El Hotelito Perdido is a small jungle hideaway in the middle of the rainforest on a small river connected to Río Dulce, called Río Lampara.
For a map of our premises click here maphotelitoen.pdf We are located across the river from the Mineral Hot Springs, close to Waterfall Lampara, and a short journey from the Manatee Reserve. By boat we are a 45-minute ride from the town of Río Dulce, and a 30-minute trip through the magnificent Río Dulce Canyon to the funky Garifuna town of Livingston. El Hotelito Perdido is eco-sensitively designed to blend into the landscape with thatched roofs and charming wooden structures. Solar panels provide the only electricity. Accommodation ranges from our five-bed "Jungle Loft" dorm to cozy two-story bungalows with private bathrooms. With only three private bungalows, another bungalow divided into two private sections, and a few dorm beds it feels pleasantly exclusive. We offer drinks, and restaurant services (breakfast, lunch, and dinner, always with a vegetarian option), which includes our own homemade bread. There is a communal area for meals and dancing, various public cabanas with hammocks, a public BBQ, and sitting areas in the gardens and on the dock. Several places on the premises are perfect for public or private yoga practice. |
We rent kayaks, paddleboards and wooden cayucos or provide guided local tours, you can swim or fish from the dock, there are beautiful tropical gardens with fruit trees and flowers, plenty of hammocks to relax in, games to play and good books to read.
The communal area has a bar, lounge and candlelit restaurant.
At el Hotelito Perdido we strive to minimize our impact on the environment. We are fully solar powered, our food is mostly organic and purchased locally. We are also consciously helping to reforest the jungle.
Looking for a unique experience? We are offering an opportunity to an enthusiastic volunteer willing to engage in whatever needs to be done here. All ages are welcome, the main requirements are: proficiency in Spanish and English, a commitment to stay at least two months, good personal presentation and politeness. Yoga instructors, Spanish teachers, and masseurs are especially welcome — personal income from these occupations is a possibility.
